Price excluding VAT

1,000.00 SAR

VAT (15%)

150.00 SAR

Total including VAT

1,150.00 SAR

Formula with your numbers

  • VAT = 1,000.00 × 15% = 150.00
  • Total including VAT = 1,000.00 + 150.00 = 1,150.00

Rate shown: 15% standard rate. Always verify the current rate with ZATCA.

Quick answer: Choose the country, then multiply a price by 1 + the rate to add VAT, or divide a VAT-inclusive total by 1 + the rate to find the price before VAT.

How it's calculated

Pick the country: the calculator switches to its standard rate and currency (Saudi Arabia 15%, UAE 5%, Bahrain 10%, Oman 5%).

Add VAT: price × (1 + rate). Remove VAT: total ÷ (1 + rate); the VAT is the difference.

Rounding follows each currency: 2 decimals for the Saudi riyal and UAE dirham, 3 for the Bahraini dinar and Omani rial.

Worked examples

  • Saudi Arabia: 1,000 SAR + 15% = 1,150.00
  • UAE: 1,000 AED + 5% = 1,050.00
  • Bahrain: 1,000 BHD + 10% = 1,100.000
  • Oman: 1,000 OMR + 5% = 1,050.000

Frequently asked questions

Which GCC countries have VAT?

Saudi Arabia (15%), the UAE (5%), Bahrain (10%) and Oman (5%). Qatar and Kuwait have not introduced VAT.

Is VAT the same across the GCC?

No. The countries follow a common framework, but each sets its own rate, registration thresholds and exemptions.

Can I use a different rate?

Yes. Open rate settings in the calculator and enter a custom rate from 0 to 100%.

Why do Bahrain and Oman show three decimals?

The Bahraini dinar and the Omani rial are divided into 1,000 fils and baisa, so amounts are rounded to three decimals.

Is anything I enter sent or saved?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing you type leaves your device or appears in the address bar.
